If older devices will not connect to your Wi-Fi, you can turn on Compatible Wi-Fi on your BT Smart Hub. This creates a 2.4GHz network that helps older or smart devices connect more reliably.
What is Compatible Wi-Fi?
Compatible Wi-Fi is an extra network available on newer BT Smart Hubs. It helps devices that cannot connect to your main Wi Fi.
It is useful for:
- Mobiles, tablets, and laptops.
- Printers.
- Smart devices such as bulbs, doorbells, and cameras.
Compatible Wi-Fi runs at 2.4 GHz, so speeds may be slower than your main network. However, you can use both networks simultaneously, and your devices will still work together.
You can control smart devices across both networks.
Before you start
- Make sure your BT Smart Hub supports Compatible Wi-Fi.
Check your hub model and features. - Have your hub admin password ready.
Turn on Compatible Wi-Fi using Hub Manager
