    For us, smart working is all about teams

    Along with everyone else, during the events of 2020/21 we embraced new technology, broke down barriers, and discovered new ways to work together.

    Smart working is how we’re taking the most successful ideas and using them to transform the way we work with each other in our teams. It’s about experimenting with new ways of doing things to build a better BT. Does everyone need to be in the office five days a week? Probably not. As we reflect on the new reality, people are keen to adopt a hybrid working style.

    We know that technology and connectivity can help people work remotely but we believe there’s still an important role for the office, one that’s difficult to match with virtual working: that chance connection that sparks creativity. The shared office is where we get to bounce ideas off each other and develop the relationships that help us all push further and achieve more.

    Smart working may not be for every role. But as part of the recruitment process, you’ll have the chance to discuss smart working and how it might work for the job you’re applying for.
