How to set up Digital Voice
Digital Voice delivers your home phone service through your Smart Hub, and setting it up is easy.

Plug your Smart Hub 2 into the power supply and the internet port.

When you upgrade to Digital Voice, you’ll need to swap your current home phone to a Digital Home Phone. You can choose from:

Digital Voice will give you the same reliability, trust and familiarity of your current home phone service as well as giving you new benefits and features, such as crystal clear calling and the ability to block nuisance calls at the touch of a button.
And, for most households, the upgrade to Digital Voice won’t affect your day-to-day use of your home phone service.
No, you’ll pay exactly the same for Digital Voice as you do for our standard landline service.
It is possible to use your existing home phones, but we recommend taking advantage of the free Digital Home Phone to get all the benefits of Digital Voice.
If you choose to keep your existing home phones we’ll need to send you some extra equipment, to ensure they work with your Digital Voice service.
Like your cordless phones today, Digital Voice won’t work if there’s a power failure. So please make sure you have another way to make a call, like a mobile phone. If you can’t use a mobile phone at home, our battery back-up unit can keep your phone line connected for up to an hour.
No, Digital Voice will only work with the BT Smart Hub 2.
Healthcare and security alarms are not yet supported on the Digital Voice service. If you need to connect one of these alarms to your landline, we recommend that you don’t upgrade to Digital Voice at the moment.
