I’m a Celebrity 2020 line-up: Who are the confirmed celeb contestants? When does it start on ITV? Where is it being filmed?

We reveal the confirmed contestants for I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! 2020, which is being filmed in North Wales rather than Australia due to coronavirus.

By Alex Fletcher Updated: 15 November 2020 - 8.56pm

I’m a Celebrity returns in November to celebrate its 20th series on ITV.

Since veteran DJ Tony Blackburn was crowned King of the Jungle in August 2002, millions of viewers have tuned in year after year to watch the latest batch of unfortunate celebs eating weird animal bits and bobs, lying down alongside terrifying critters and facing their fears in the jungle – all while Ant and Dec stand by giggling.

Like most things in 2020, the show's 20th series will have a very different look as the show moves from an Australian rainforest to a castle in North Wales due to travel restrictions imposed during the coronavirus pandemic.

But aside from the location shift, ITV are promising more of the same gruesome Bushtucker Trials, cheeky banter from Ant and Dec and clashing celebrity egos.

Here is everything you need to know about the new series….

I'm a Celebrity 2020 confirmed contestants and cast

ITV have revealed this year's campmates, who include a couple of soap legends, Britain's greatest ever track Olympian, a Radio 1 DJ and a Strictly Come Dancing professional.

Giovanna Fletcher

TV presenter and podcaster Giovanna Fletcher ITV

Famous for: Kids TV presenter and podcaster

Phobias: Heights. My legs go wobbly and you can’t rationalise it!

Biggest misconception you want to dispel in the castle: I am not that controversial so nothing.

Role in the camp: Mum, friend and the giver of hugs!

Miss most: My husband, Tom, and my three children.

Dream campmate: The Queen, Judi Dench and Ant Middleton so he can help us with all the survival skills!

Giovanna is the sister of TOWIE's Mario Falcone and the wife of McFly's Tom Fletcher, but is best known as a podcaster, children's TV presenter on The Baby Club, author and vlogger.

Jordan North

Radio 1 DJ Jordan North ITV

Famous For: Radio 1 DJ

Phobias: It’s just easier to say what I am not scared of. I have so many phobias!

Biggest misconception you want to dispel in the castle: On my Radio 1 show, I am always bubbly and energetic but everyone has down moments too, so it will be nice for people to see what I am really like.

Role in the camp: Entertainer and the tidy up person – I love a tidy house!

Miss most: A nice cool pint of Guinness.

Dream campmate: Barack Obama and Liam Gallagher. He would be great entertainment value!

The long-distance runner definitely has the stamina for the I’m a Celebrity challenge. The gold medal athlete is an impressive coup for the I’m a Celeb lineup.

Vernon Kay

Role in the camp: Person to keep spirits up.

Miss most: My family.

Dream campmate: Anybody who has won the Super Bowl!

Relationship status: Married.

The new Welsh location has proved tempting to celebrities with ties to the UK, such as Vernon. With Tess Daly always busy doing Strictly in the autumn, it’s unlikely the couple would be able to jet off if the series was in its usual Australian setting.

Victoria Derbyshire

Victoria Derbyshire ITV

Famous for: Journalist and TV presenter

Phobias: I am not a fan of spiders or confined spaces and I don’t know what I am going to be like when I get there!

The award-winning BBC journalist and radio presenter has been in the headlines recently after commenting that she would break the Government's rule of six coronavirus restriction in order to enjoy a family Christmas.

Although she later backtracked on the remark, Derbyshire isn’t afraid to speak her mind and will be an intriguing addition to the cast.

Derbyshire has been praised for her openess about her diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer, which included recording public video diaries. She took part in ITV fundraiser The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night in 2019.

Hollie Arnold

Athlete Hollie Arnold ITV

Phobias: Spiders.

Biggest misconception you want to dispel in the castle: I don’t want it to focus on my disability.

Role in the camp: Cook/shoulder to cry on.

Miss most: My boyfriend, food and my cats.

Dream campmate: Michelle Keegan – she is beautiful!

Relationship status: Dating.

The British Paralympian joins the line-up for the new series and who would bet against the gold medal winner becoming Queen of the Castle 2020?

Awarded an MBE for her services to athletics, the javelin world record holder will face a very different challenge to her day job if she does take part in the ITV reality show.

Beverley Callard

Soap star Beverley Callard ITV

Famous for: Playing Liz McDonald in Coronation Street

Phobias: Ghosts and insects.

Biggest misconception you want to dispel in the castle: People think I am glamorous as I have played Liz for so longbut I am not!

Role in the camp: Cleaner.

Miss most: Dogs and my husband, Jon.

Dream campmate: Ricky Gervais – he would keep us all going.

Relationship status: Married

The popular Corrie star has appeared on and off in the ITV soap since 1989. Playing brassy barmaid Liz, Callard is one of the country’s most popular soap stars. She is set to leave the cobbles for good next year, her final scenes delayed due to the current filming restrictions.

Callard has spoken publically about her mental health issues and depression in the past.

AJ Pritchard

Strictly pro AJ Pritchard ITV

Famous for: Strictly Come Dancing professional

Phobias: Heights, claustrophobia.

Biggest misconception you want to dispel in the castle: People see me with sparkles and fake tan but nobody knows what I am like!

Role in the camp: Keeping spirits up and the cleaner.

Dream campmate: Any celebrity with an intriguing background.

Relationship status: Dating.

The dancer made a surprise exit from Strictly’s pro line-up this year and has been working with his brother, Love Island contestant, Curtis.

Jessica Plummer

Singer and actress Jessica Plummer ITV

Famous for: EastEnders and girlband Neon Jungle

Phobias: Arachnophobia, fear of heights – just about every phobia!

Biggest misconception you want to dispel in the castle: It will be nice for people to see me for who I am rather than my EastEnders character.

Role in the camp: Chatterbox and little sister.

Miss most: My daughter. It’s going to be the longest we’ve been apart.

Dream campmate: Denzel Washington would be awesome. I would listen to every word he said!

Relationship status: Single.

Plummer first found fame in 2013 in the girl group Neon Jungle, who scored a top 10 album with Welcome To The Jungle and two top 10 singles before splitting in 2015.

Where is I’m a Celebrity being filmed in 2020?

Because of travel restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic, the cast and crew of I'm a Celebrity.. Get Me Out of Here! are unable to make their annual trip to Queensland, Australia.

Instead, this year the show will be filmed at the historic Gwrych Castle near Abergele in North Wales.

Ant & Dec will host an adapted version of I’m A Celebrity… from the castle live on ITV.

The surroundings might be different but the format will be familiar, as celebrities undertake gruelling trials and fun-filled challenges to win food and treats before one of them is crowned the first King or Queen of the Castle.

Will there be an Extra Camp spin-off series?

Extra Camp won’t be returning in 2020, but it will be replaced by brand-new companion show I’m A Celebrity… The Daily Drop.

Airing exclusively on the ITV Hub, it will be presented by Capital FM DJ and former Strictly contestant Vick Hope.

Hosted in a virtual studio, the show will give fans an extra opportunity to delve deeper into the action from camp – hear lively opinions and debates and get all the latest gossip. Brand new episodes will be available exclusively on the ITV Hub from 7am the morning after each main show airs and can be watched at any time.

"I'm so excited to be hosting I'm A Celebrity... The Daily Drop on ITV Hub," Vick said.

"I’m A Celeb is such a brilliant show, loved by so many, and exactly what we all need right now. I’m very grateful to get to be a part of the stellar team behind it and can’t wait to see what this series has in store!

"I just know they’re going to go massive this year for the 20th anniversary, and give the audience absolutely top-drawer thrills and spills.

Who are the presenters?

Ant and Dec will host the nightly updates and put the celebrities through their challenges. The Geordie pair have hosted 18 of the show's 19 series, Holly Willoughby stepping in for Ant in 2018 while he was taking a year-long break from television.

The duo have even taken part in their first ever Bushtucker Trial to celebrate the show’s 20th birthday.

I'm a Celebrity starts on Sunday, November 15 at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
