Pair the TV app with your TV box

Use these steps to pair a device with your TV box using the TV app and fix common pairing problems.

Fix pairing problems

Make sure your TV and TV box are switched on before you start pairing.

To pair your device using the TV app with your TV box:

  • Your device and TV box must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If you're using a VPN on your device, turn it off as it can interfere with pairing.

If your device and TV box are connected to the same network, and pairing still isn't working:

  1. Fully close the app.
  2. Open it again.
  3. Try pairing again.

Restart your TV box

  1. Switch your TV box off and on again using the power button on your remote.
  2. If that doesn't work, switch the box off using the power switch on the back.
  3. Wait a few seconds and turn it back on.

Restart your BT Hub

If you're still having problems:

  1. Press the reset button on your Hub or switch the Hub off.
  2. Wait a few seconds.
  3. Turn it back on and try again.

Check for a software update

Your TV box may be running an older software version. Updates are normally installed automatically between 2 am and 9 am.

You can check for an update manually:

  1. Press the purple Home button on your remote.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Software information.
  4. Select Software update.

If no update is available, your TV box is already running the latest version.
