Fault Message Service for incoming calls

Let callers know your phone line has a fault and is being repaired. Learn about BT’s free service and how to set it up quickly and easily.

We can let callers know there’s a fault on your line and that it’s being repaired. This free service plays a message to callers explaining the fault. To set this up, contact us and we’ll do the rest.

Start online through My BT:

If you report the fault online, you'll be asked if you'd like to add an out-of-service message. You can also call 0800 800 151 from any phone to get this added.
