Keep your number when you switch to BT

If your telephone service is with another company (for example, a cable provider), we can usually transfer your number to BT. We’ll confirm during your order if this isn’t possible.

All you need to do is tell us:

  • the company you're using
  • the telephone number you want to keep

Arrange your switch online

There’s no charge for this transfer. We will work with your current cable provider to ensure there is no service interruption. And if, for any reason, we can't transfer your number to BT, we'll give you a new number for free.

There is no need for you to contact your existing landline provider. After placing your order, you should get a letter from your call provider confirming your request to transfer. We'll write to you after the transfer period to confirm the details.
