Manage your EE TV payment PIN and parental controls PIN

Use this guide to reset, change or manage your EE TV payment PIN and parental controls PIN.

EE TV uses two PINs (Personal Identification Numbers):

  1. A payment PIN for authorising payments.
  2. A parental control PIN for keeping your kids safe by restricting access to adult content.

You can create these when you first set up your TV box.

Use your payment PIN to:

  • buy TNT Sports Box Office or Sky Sports Box Office events on EE TV
  • authorise purchases from the EE TV Player

About your Payment PIN

If you change your payment PIN on a TV Box Pro or Edge, it updates across all your TV boxes.
If you change it on an Apple TV 4K box, it won't automatically update on your other boxes.

Reset your Payment PIN online

If you've set up your EE TV ID, you can reset your PIN online:

  1. Select Reset my payment PIN.
  2. If you’re not already logged in, you'll be asked to log in to your account.
  3. Select Reset my payment PIN again.
  4. Re-enter your password for security.
  5. Enter a new PIN.

Reset your Payment PIN in the TV app

  1. In the bottom right corner, select My TV.
  2. Select Reset my Payment PIN.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. Enter your new PIN.

If you can't reset your Payment PIN

If the reset tool doesn't work:

  1. Check you're logged in with the correct EE TV ID.
  2. Try again using the EE TV app.
  3. If the issue continues, contact BT support.

About your Parental Controls PIN

Use this PIN to restrict access to content that isn't suitable for children. You can apply it to:

  • age ratings
  • programmes shown after the 9 pm 'watershed' which might be unsuitable for children
  • programmes with no age rating attached

Use your Parental Control PIN

Press the Home button on your EE TV remote:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Parental Controls.
  3. Restrict Age-Rated Programmes.

For some On Demand programmes, you may need to enter your Payment PIN to confirm payment before watching. If this happens, you may not need to enter the Parental Control PIN, even when parental controls are switched on.

This is because we'll verify your right to play the selected programme using your payment PIN.

Forgotten your Parental Control PIN?

If you haven't changed your PIN, it may still be the default PIN: 1234.

When entering a new PIN, you’ll be asked to set a security question, which will be used for future PIN resets.

If you can’t remember your parental control PIN, you'll be asked to enter the answer to the security question. If you can’t remember this, the only way to change the PIN is by Factory Resetting your TV box:

  1. Go to the main menu by pressing the blue Home button on your remote.
  2. Scroll to Settings.
  3. In the Settings menu, scroll down to Information & Reset and select Factory Reset from the list.
  4. You'll now see a warning screen. Remember, performing a factory reset will delete all your recordings and personal data.
  5. If you want to continue, just enter the numbers shown on the screen using your remote. The factory reset will take a few minutes.
  6. Once done, you'll see the first-time set-up screens. Just follow the on-screen instructions to complete the reset.

How to change your Parental Controls PIN

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Parental Controls.
  4. Change Parental Control PIN.
  5. Enter your original PIN. If you’ve never set one up, this will be 1234.
  6. You’ll then be able to set a new PIN.

Manage your NOW profile PIN

NOW uses a daytime viewing PIN to meet broadcasting regulations for age-restricted content shown before 21:00.

You might be asked for this PIN when watching any live Sky Cinema or Entertainment channel between 5.30 am and 10 pm, depending on the movie or show you’re watching.

The NOW profile PIN is separate from your EE TV Parental Controls PIN.

You can change your NOW profile PIN, make a new one if you forget it, and set age limits on the NOW website.
