Our 4G Mini Hub uses a mobile signal to connect up to 20 of your wi-fi devices to the internet.
You can buy one on a 24-month contract on one of the following Data SIM plans:
- 3GB data
- 6GB data
- 15GB data
- 30GB data
There's no need to activate your SIM. Just pop it into your device and you're ready to go.
BT Halo customers may be eligible for a free Mini Hub if they have a broadband affecting fault. Learn about the 4G Mini Hub >
- Plug in and switch on your Mini Hub and wait for it to connect to the 4G network
- Follow the instructions in the BT welcome booklet and take a look at these FAQs if you have any issues
- Find the best signal location in your home - this is often near a window - and plug in the Mini Hub to charge. The battery life is around six hours, but you may want to keep it plugged in to make sure your home stays connected. The charging cable provided can be used with a USB plug, which means you can move your Mini Hub around to find the best coverage. You need 4G for the best performance, but it works with 3G too
- Connect your wi-fi devices using the network name and password shown on the password card. This is included in your box. If you can't find it, just remove the back cover and you'll find a sticker showing the network name and password
Make sure your Mini Hub is turned on and charged up or plugged in. Turn it off and back on again. Go through the set-up instructions again and make sure you've set up the Hub correctly.
The Hub is designed to save power whenever possible. It will turn off wi-fi and enter sleep mode if no device is connected to it after it's been on for a period of time. Hold the power button down for ten seconds and your Mini Hub will reboot.

The 4G Mini Hub relies on BT Mobile network coverage so its performance depends on where you are. Try a few different spots around your house to find the best 4G signal. Often the signal gets better near windows or doors. Don't worry if you don't have a full signal. You should still get a good connection. And the Mini Hub will also work over a 3G signal.

Please use a micro-USB charging cable, as that will work with the Mini Hub.
Unfortunately, we can't replace a lost or stolen Mini Hub.
If you bought your Mini Hub, we advise you to bar your SIM card. This will make sure that nobody can use your data or your SIM number. You can order a replacement Data SIM and use it in another device.
We also advise you to blacklist your 4G Mini Hub if it's been stolen.
If you've asked us to bar your SIM, but haven't yet ordered a replacement, then yes. Just give us a call and we'll unbar the SIM. You may also need to ask us to remove your device from the blacklist.
If you get your device back and you've already ordered another SIM, you'll need to wait for the new one to arrive and then activate it. Your old SIM won't work anymore. But we can still remove your device from the blacklist if you contact us.
If you still need to get in touch, give us a call on 0800 800 150.
