Smart Setup is BT's online setup wizard. Every time you connect a new device to your hub, it guides you through setting up all the BT features and services available on your device.
It should appear as soon as you connect to the Hub and open a browser.
Smart Setup helps you:
- Set up BT features when you connect a device.
- Find extras in your package.
You can also manage these anytime in:
My BT > My Extras.
Turn Smart Setup on or off
- Connect a device to your Hub (Wi-Fi or cable).
- Open a web browser.
- Type 192.168.1.254 into the address bar.
- Enter your admin password
You’ll find this on the back of your Hub. - Go to Smart Setup.
- Select On or Off.
- Select Save.
If you can’t access Hub Manager
- Make sure your device is connected to your Hub.
- Try typing: bthomehub.home
- Restart your Hub and try again.
Skip Smart Setup on a device
- Wait until you reach the login step.
- Select Start browsing (top right).
You can’t skip the first few steps.
Fix problems with Smart Setup
Smart Setup doesn’t appear
- It only works on supported Hubs (Home Hub 4, Hub 5, Smart Hub, Smart Hub 2, Smart Hub 3).
- Try opening a browser after connecting.
You forgot your admin password
Use password override to reset it without losing settings.
Changes won’t save
Make sure you select Save before leaving the page.
