How to claim the BT Switch Offer
Follow these steps to make sure your claim goes through smoothly:
- Check your current contract
Make sure you’re allowed to leave your existing provider before you switch to BT.
- Order and activate BT Broadband
Once your BT Broadband is up and running, you’re ready to claim.
- Email your final bill
Send your paid final bill to bt-switchteam@bt.com within 4 months of your BT activation.
You can send your claim as soon as you place your order. We’ll start processing it 14 days after your service activates, once your cooling off period ends.
Make sure you email includes:
- your BT order number in the subject link
- your final bill attached, showing your address, that must match your BT account and a clear breakdown of the early termination charges or one-off charges
Get your bill credit
We’ll add your bill credit within 28 days of receiving and validating your bill. It covers early termination charges only. It does not cover excess data or call charges.
If any information is missing, your claim will be delayed until we receive the correct details.
We aim to reply within 2 working days.

This example bill shows the information we need: name and address and an entry for one-off charges.
When you're not eligible
- If you cancel BT Broadband within 14 days of activation.
- If you don’t send your final bill within 4 months.
- If you’ve won BT Broadband or TV in a competition, unless the competition terms say BT Switch applies.
- If you're a BT Group employee.
- If the termination charges are from BT, EE, Plusnet, or business broadband.
Offer terms
- Invitation only for new BT Broadband customers signing up to any BT Broadband or Broadband and TV package.
- We’ll credit your BT account with the value of your early termination charges or £300, whichever is lower.
- If you have multiple providers, submit both final bills together, or we'll only cover the first one.
- Covers termination charges for fixed‑line home broadband and home phone services only.
- If you take EE TV with BT Broadband, TV termination charges are included too.
- Other termination charges aren’t covered, including mobile broadband.
- There's no cash alternative.
- Prize winners are only eligible if competition terms allow BT Switch.
- Other conditions may apply.
