Getting started with your BT 4G Home Hub

Your Hub comes with:

  • A BT 4G Home Hub and pre-installed SIM
  • Power adapter
  • Ethernet port
  • Quick start guide
  • Safety information

Don’t worry, you can find your default WiFi details at the back of your Hub. If you still can't connect, you may have to do a full reset; this resets the Hub back to its default settings.

A full reset will delete your personal configuration settings on your Hub. It will also restore the web-based management settings to their default values.

  1. Turn the Hub so the bottom of it is facing upwards
  2. Using a paperclip or pen, press and hold the Reset button for about five seconds
  3. The Hub will restart automatically - any changes you’ve made to the password will be reset to factory settings

To view your Hub information:

  1. Connect the device to the PC via the cable or WiFi connection
  2. Open a web browser and type into the address bar then press Enter
  3. From the home page, click Change your BT 4G Home Hub SSID and password
  4. Enter the required username and password, then click Log in
  5. Click Device

Make sure the Hub is connected to your device, then:

  1. Open a web browser and type into the address bar then press Enter
  2. Click Log In to access settings
  3. Enter the username and password - the default username and password is admin
  4. Click System then Device Information
  5. You'll see the number associated with the SIM in your Hub

Where to put your 4G Home Hub

To get the best signal, the ideal place will be near a window. Try a few different areas until you find the one with the best signal.

Things that can affect signal strength

Concrete or wooden walls can weaken the transmission of wireless signals. Electrical appliances that project strong electric or magnetic fields such as microwave ovens, refrigerators and satellite antennas can negatively affect your signal. Place your router away from such appliances.
