Think you’ve been charged for a call you didn’t make? It’s worth checking the destination of the number again, and asking if someone else in your home has made the call. Especially if the same number has appeared before.
You could also try running a Google search on the number you don't recognise. You may find out whose number it is.
There's a National Numbering Plan in the UK that shows what numbers are used by different types of service. It also gives you an idea of how much it costs to call those numbers. The table below shows the major categories of numbers.
