There won't be a more bitter rivalry settled in the Octagon this year as two best friends turned mortal enemies face off at UFC 272 on Saturday night when Colby Covington takes on Jorge Masvidal.

The welterweight showpiece sees former American Top Team charge Covington, once inseparable from his ex-teammate until as recently 2017, take on a man whom he has worked tirelessly to antagonise since their acrimonious parting of ways some years ago.

Renowned as one of the UFC's last straight talkers from an era of times gone by, Masvidal is looking to exact brutal revenge on Covington for what he sees as a betrayal of trust in pursuit of money and publicity.

With so much on the line - not least of which the prospect of a potential trilogy for either man against the 170lb champion Kamaru Usman somewhere down the line - there is no room for error when the two arch rivals meet inside the Octagon.

With that, plus Rafael dos Anjos vs Renato Moicano, Edson Barboza vs Bryce Mitchell and Kevin Holland vs Alex Oliveira to look forward to, you won't want to be anywhere this Saturday night.
