The first hint of the weekend’s drama took place on Friday morning as both Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier hit the scales ahead of their 155lb contest on Saturday night.

Despite their first meeting having taken place at the featherweight limit more than six years ago, the two men are known to endure a fairly hefty cut in order to reach the lightweight mark so all eyes were on them as they made the bout official on Fight Island.

Neither fighter has a history of missing weight and they continued that streak of professionalism on Friday morning with no issues for either man.

McGregor's mind games began ahead of the clash live on BT Sport Box Office with the Irishman making a point of weighing in at 155lb - championship weight, as he reminded the crowd - instead of the required 156lb.
