Champions Manchester City begin their Premier League title defence with a cracker on opening day as they travel to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur.

When is the first day of the 2021/22 Premier League season?

The Premier League season gets back underway on Saturday 14 August.

That's a whole month earlier than last season, which began on 14 September because of delays to the conclusion of the 19/20 campaign incurred by the national coronavirus restrictions.

There will be a quick turnaround for some of the Premier League stars who make it to the latter stages of this year's European Championships.

The final of the tournament will take place on Sunday 11 July.
