When is the first day of the 2020/21 Premier League season?

The Premier League season gets back underway on Saturday 12 September.

Ordinarily, the season begins in early August but last year's lengthy pause during the coronavirus lockdown has meant a later start for the forthcoming campaign.

The Premier League has also accomodated an agreed 30-day break for all clubs involved in the latter stages of the 2019/20 European club competitions, meaning both Man City and Man Utd's opening day fixtures have been postponed.

A date for the rescheduled games will be announced in due course.

The opening weekend's matches for both Chelsea and Wolves will take place on Monday 14 September.
