1. Cristiano Ronaldo - 5

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the Champions League five times in his illustrious career

All-time top scorer Ronaldo perhaps unsurprisingly leads the way with five Champions League wins.

The legendary forward picked up his first winners medal with Manchester United in 2008. Utd beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalties after a dramatic draw in Moscow, with Ronaldo opening the scoring with a superb header.

He went on to lift the trophy four more times with Real Madrid in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Remarkably, he was the top scorer in each of those campaigns and he scored in the final in 2014 and 2017.

He is the first ever player to score in two finals for two different winning teams and has left an indelible mark on the competition.

2. Mateo Kovacic, Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Dani Carvajal, Casemiro, Isco, Marcelo, Luka Modric, Nacho, Sergio Ramos, Raphael Varane, Toni Kroos, Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi, Xavi, Clarence Seedorf - 4

Clarence Seedorf is the only player to have won the trophy with three different clubs

17 players have won the Champions League on four occasions since 1992.

The list is dominated by Real Madrid and Barcelona players, with the Spanish giants accounting for 11 wins between them.

Bale, Benzema, Carvajal, Casemiro, Isco, Marcelo, Modric, Nacho, Ramos and Varane have won the competition four times with Los Blancos.

Kovacic and Kroos picked up three with Real and one apiece with Chelsea and Bayern Munich, respectively.

Messi, Iniesta and Xavi won four with Barcelona in 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015, while Pique picked up one with Utd before winning three more with the Catalans.

Seedorf is the only player to have won the trophy with three different clubs (Ajax, Real and Milan).

3. Alessandro Costacurta, Paolo Maldini, Kiko Casilla, Keylor Navas, Lucas Vazquez, Pepe, Dani Alves, Sergio Busquets, Pedro, Samuel Eto’o, Carlos Puyol, Víctor Valdes, Iker Casillas, Guti, Fernando Hierro, Aitor Karanka, Fernando Morientes, Raul, Fernando Redondo, Roberto Carlos, Savio - 3

Paolo Maldini has won the European Cup five times, three in the Champions League era

21 players have tasted glory three times in the Champions League era.

Milan legends Costacurta and Maldini, who won the European Cup in 1989 and 1990, picked up three more winners medals in 1994, 2003 and 2007.

Incredibly, Maldini started both the 1989 and 2007 finals, the longest period between a players’ first and last win (18 years).

Once again, the list is mainly comprised of Real Madrid players with Casilla, Navas, Vazquez, Pepe, Casillas, Guti, Hierro, Karanka, Morientes, Raul, Carlos and Savio all three-time winners.

Fernando Redondo won twice with Real before picking up his third with Milan.

Barcelona’s Alves, Busquets, Pedro, Puyol and Valdes are also on the list alongside Eto’o who won the treble at Inter post-Barca.
