Atalanta 1-0 Young Boys - Watch replay

Atalanta moved top of Champions League Group F after a 1-0 victory over Young Boys.

The result means the Serie A outfit have only lost one of their last 11 Champions League group stage matches (W6 D4) since losing their first three in the group stages in 2019-20.

Matteo Pessina became the first Italian to score for Atalanta in the competition when he netted after 68 minutes.

The goal proved to be the winner as Atalanta moved to four points, with Young Boys on three points after their opening win against Manchester United.

Zenit 4-0 Malmo - Watch replay

Zenit St Petersburg got off the mark in Group H as they eased to a 4-0 home win over Malmo, ending a run of eight Champions League matches without victory in the process.

Claudinho struck the opener after nine minutes for the Russian side, who were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in Matchday 1.

Daler Kuzyayev bagged the second after half-time and Aleksei Sutormin curled in a fine third from outside the box in the 80th minute after Anel Ahmedhodzic had been sent off for the visitors.

Wendel got in on the act in injury-time to complete a convincing win for the Russian giants.

Juventus 1-0 Chelsea - Watch replay

Federico Chiesa’s rocket finish stunned Chelsea in Turin as Juventus condemned the Blues to a second straight 1-0 defeat.

Italy forward Chiesa sneaked in on goal and lashed past Edouard Mendy as Chelsea were caught cold just 11 seconds into the second half.

The visitors were still processing their half-time adjustments when Juventus struck, and Thomas Tuchel’s side never recovered.

Chelsea had opened their Champions League defence with a patchy 1-0 win over Zenit St Petersburg at Stamford Bridge on September 14, and this loss left their Group H status in the balance.

Man United 2-1 Villarreal - Watch replay

Cristiano Ronaldo capped his record-breaking Champions League appearance by firing Manchester United to a stunning late comeback win against Europa League final foes Villarreal.

Just four months on from the penalty shoot-out loss to Unai Emery’s side in Gdansk, the sides met again with the Red Devils needing to make up for their shock defeat at Young Boys in the Group F opener.

A disjointed United were staring down the barrel of a third straight home defeat in all competitions when Paco Alcacer deservedly put Villarreal ahead.

But Alex Telles’ sublime volley gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side hope and Ronaldo secured a 2-1 win in stoppage time, sending Old Trafford wild on the night he broke Iker Casillas’ all-time Champions League appearances record.

Benfica 3-0 Barcelona - Watch replay

Barcelona have made their worst start to a Champions League campaign ever after a chastening 3-0 defeat at Benfica.

The Portuguese side dealt a further blow to Ronald Koeman, with Barcelona slumping to their second successive defeat in the competition as they also finished the match with 10 men.

Darwin Nunez netted in the third minute and capped off his side’s scoring with a penalty in the 79th, with Rafa Silva striking in between. Eric Garcia was sent off late on.

The defeat means Barcelona are under pressure to avoid missing out on the knockout stage for the first time since the 2003-04 season when they did not feature in the competition at all.

Bayern Munich 5-0 Dynamo Kiev - Watch replay

Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Bayern Munich stormed to a 5-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv.

Lewandowski’s strikes, including from the penalty spot, came inside the first half an hour as he reached 77 goals in the competition.

Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane - who may have been looking to cross - and substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also added their names to the scoresheet.

RB Salzburg 2-1 Lille - Watch replay

It was another match full of penalties for Salzburg who were twice awarded spot kicks having seen three go their way on Matchday 1.

Nineteen-year-old Karim Adeyemi dispatched both, one in each half, confidently but it was a nervy finish for the hosts after Burak Yılmaz hit back on the hour mark.

The forward curled in a superb free-kick with the 36-year-old not wanting to be outdone by Salzburg’s latest teenage sensation.

Wolfsburg 1-1 Sevilla - Watch replay

For the second successive game an Ivan Rakitic penalty earned a point for Sevilla, with the former Barcelona man holding his nerve to convert late on.

Renato Steffen had put the hosts ahead just after the restart before Wout Weghorst was denied by a good save from Yassine Bounou.

The La Liga side hit the post late on but the points were shared and both sides retained their unbeaten starts to the campaign.
