Lokomotiv 1-2 Bayern Munich - Watch replay

Defending champions Bayern Munich extended their phenomenal winning run in the Champions League to 13 consecutive matches thanks to a pearler from Joshua Kimmich.

The German midfielder brought a tricky pass under control with his back to goal before volleying an accurate finish on the turn into the bottom corner from 20 yards out.

Lokomotiv, who were cheered on by a few thousand home fans in the Russian capital on Tuesday night, looked to have secured a point when Anton Miranchuk cancelled out Leon Goretzka's 13th minute opener a little after the hour mark.

But it wasn't to be as Bayern secured a win that gifted them a five point lead in Group A already.

Shakhtar Donetsk 0-0 Inter - Watch replay

A week after their shock 3-2 win away to 13-time winners Real Madrid, Shakhtar remain unbeaten having held a wasteful Inter to a 0-0 draw.

Lautaro Martinez missed the best of the chances, somehow firing wide from six yards with the goal at his mercy after goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin parried a shot straight to him.

The 19-year-old stopper also tipped Romelu Lukaku’s powerful free-kick onto the bar, the second time the visitors hit the woodwork, to earn his side a point.

Kevin De Bruyne made his first start since injury and made an instant impact in setting up Ferran Torres for his third for the club already.

Raheem Sterling then turned provider, heading back across goal for Ilkay Gundogan to score his second in the Champions League in as many games.

And the England forward would later get his name on the scoresheet, with captain De Bruyne sliding the ball across for a trademark Pep Guardiola City goal.

Six-time Champions League winners Liverpool produced a pragmatic performance to see off Danish challengers Midtjylland at Anfield.

The Reds were held goalless after a first half that saw stand-in centre-back Fabinho limp off with a suspected hamstring injury but found a way through the visitors' defence shortly after the restart.

New boy Diogo Jota helped himself to his first Champions League goal in Liverpool red after good work from Trent Alexander-Arnold to tee him up for a tap-in.

Second-half sub Mohamed Salah made sure of the points with a late penalty after being tangled up by a retreating defender with the Egyptian racing through on goal.

Atletico Madrid 3-2 Salzburg - Watch replay

Joao Felix scored a late winner for Atletico Madrid in an entertaining game from Group A, with RB Salzburg giving a good account of themselves yet again.

Marcos Llorente put the hosts in front, but goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Mergim Berisha either side of half time handed the Austrian the lead.

But two second half Felix goals proved decisive, with the young Portuguese going close to netting a hat-trick with an audacious overhead kick that rattled the bar.

Porto 2-0 Olympiacos - Watch replay

Goals from Fabio Vieira and Sergio Oliveira were enough to hand Porto all three points and kick-start their Champions League campaign.

After suffering a 3-1 defeat away at Manchester City on matchday one, the hosts knew the importance of getting points on the board and they didn’t disappoint.

Olympiakos now face the prospect of back-to-back matches against the Premier League side with no points on the board and hopes of reaching the knockout stages fading fast.

Atalanta 2-2 Ajax - Watch replay

Those watching this thriller in Bergamo were treated to the game of the night as Atalanta and Ajax played out a thoroughly entertaining score draw to share the points.

Eric ten Hag's visiting Ajax had gone 2-0 up in the match thanks to goals from Dusan Tadic and Lassina Traore in the first half.

But Atalanta rediscovered their ruthless streak in the second half as Duvan Zapata slammed home a brace to draw parity for the hosts.

In the end, it could have gone either way with chances for both sides but a draw was a fair result at the Gewiss Stadium.

Borussia Monchengladbach 2-2 Real Madrid - Watch replay

Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid got out of jail against German hosts Gladbach on Tuesday night with two goals in the final five minutes snatching a share of the points in dramatic fashion.

A brace from Marcus Thuram has deservedly put Gladbach in the driver's seat against a below-par Madrid but the Spaniards fought back late on with Casemiro teeing up Karim Benzema before blasting home the equaliser himself to save the 13-time winners from another defeat.

It would have been the first time ever Madrid had started the Champions League group stages with consecutive defeats - but they face a tough double-header against Inter next.
