BT Sport 1 HD |
It's a blockbuster night in the octagon on Saturday night as BT Sport bring you a jam-packed card from the UFC headlined by Israel Adesanya's middleweight title bout against Marvin Vettori.
UFC 263 will see Adesanya return to action for the first time since his defeat to Jan Blachowicz in a light heavvyweight bout at UFC 259.
Adesanya's hopes of claiming the crown in two weight divisions were ended by Blachowicz but now he must get back to middleweight duties and put the first loss of his career firmly in the rear-view mirror.
His next opponent is a man he knows all too well having defeated Vettori in a split decision win back in April 2018. That was Vettori's second loss in four fights (with a draw included too) but The Italian Dream has reeled off five straight wins since to propel himself into title-shot territory.
Five reasons you can’t afford to miss UFC 263
With a packed card featuring some thrilling contests across the prelims and beyond, you won’t want to be anywhere else for your fix of top level MMA.
Guided by legendary MMA coach Rafael Cordeiro, Vettori is a new man and has seen off top contenders Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland en route to his rematch with Adesanya.
Now on Saturday night in Arizona, Vettori can become the first ever Italian to win a UFC title if he upsets the odds.
"When I wake up in the morning, I just want to f****** smash the day," was Vettori's verdict on his latest training regimes. Now he has the chance to do just that and inflict a second loss of Adesanya's career in Glendale.
Elsewhere there's some tasty action from the flyweight division where Deiveson Figuerido and Brandon Moreno get set for a rematch with the 125lb title up for grabs.
And there's also British interest where Leon Edwards bids to cement his status as the No 1 contender for the welterweight contender against veteran Nate Diaz.

We've reached the climax to the domestic rugby calendar as BT Sport bring you the final round of Gallagher Premiership fixtures on Saturday afternoon with plenty still to play for.
There's a place in next season's Champions Cup up for grabs as Bath bid to cling on to eighth spot when they take on Northampton Saints as they look to assure themselves of a place in next season's top club competition.
Gallagher Premiership Round 22: Match previews
Every match from the final round of the regular season will be shown on BT Sport this weekend.
But breathing down their necks are London Irish and Newcastle, who sit one and three points off Bath respectively. Surprise packages Irish are away at top-of-the-table Bristol Bears while Falcons visit Harlequins in what promises to be a close-run battle for the final remaining Champions Cup spot.
Elsewhere there's plenty of interest at the summit with top spot up for grabs still as defending champions Exeter hope to better leaders Bristol's result against London Irish when they host Sale Sharks.
Yet Sale have a lot at stake themselves with a home semi-final potentially up for grabs should they win against Chiefs and results go their way.
Wasps play host to Leicester Tigers in the remaining clash with both sides looking nervously over their shoulder at London Irish and Newcastle. The other fixture - Gloucester v Worcester - has been called off due to last week's Covid-19 outbreak in the Cherry-and-Whites' camp.

A place in League Two is up for grabs as BT Sport get set for another round of National League play-off clashes to determine who will make the final on Sunday 20 June.
First up Torquay play host to Notts County on Saturday lunchtime as the two former Football League outfits bid to keep their dreams of promotion alive by making the final.
Notts County were indedbted to a last-minute goal from Mark Ellis as they advanced from their eliminator clash against Chesterfield last weekend via a 3-2 thriller to seal a clash with - who finished second in the regular season.
Torquay, who missed out on automatic promotion by four points behind Sutton, will need to dust themselves down and be at their best at Plainmoor.
While they finished 10 points off Torquay in the table, Notts County did manage draws in both their regular-season clashes so this one promises to be a tight clash in Devon.
After we discover who will take the first spot at Wembley, we turn our attentions to Greater Manchester where Stockport play host to Hartlepool on Sunday lunchtime.
County finished just a point clear of the Monkey Hangers in the regular season and found themselves on the wrong end of a thumping from Pool when they lost 4-0 at Victoria Park back in December - though they did draw 1-1 on home soil.
Hartlepool edged another exciting eliminator clash when three early goals saw them through despite Bromley fighting back with two of their own to ensure a nervy finish.
It all tees up a tantalising encounter at Edgeley Park as County bid to end a 10-year exile from the top-four divisions by clambering out the fifth tier.
And much, much more...
As if UFC 263, the Gallagher Premiership and National League isn't enough, BT Sport have lots, lots more top-quality sporting action to enjoy this weekend.
For those who like their sport from Down Under, we've got three Aussie Rules matches from the Australian Football League across the weekend. The first Test match between West Indies and South Africa also continues in Saint Lucia.
Plus there's WWE Friday Night SmackDown, action from the FIH Pro Hockey League, NHL and Major League Baseball games from Friday until Sunday.
