HBO Max launched in the UK on 26 March 2026. As part of this, some TNT Sports and NOW Entertainment experiences changed. Here’s everything you need to know.
What's changing
TNT Sports moved from discovery+ to HBO Max on 26 March 2026. EE TV customers’ TNT Sports channels via the TV Guide are not affected.
Help with TNT Sports questions
You'll need to activate TNT Sports on HBO Max. You will be able to do this by selecting activate TNT Sports on HBO Max in your BT account and follow the instructions.
Once you’ve created an HBO Max account and accepted the HBO Max Terms of Use, you’ll need to log in to the HBO Max app for the first time.
You can reset your details in the HBO Max app or on HBO Max’s website by selecting Forgot password.
If you want to update the email address linked to your HBO Max account, you can do that in the Account section of the app or website.
Your discovery+ log in details will grant you access to your new HBO Max account.
If you have a TNT Sports subscription and an existing discovery+ account, please log in to HBO Max with your existing discovery+ details when you open the app on your EE TV set-top box.
If you have not held a discovery+ account previously, you will need to create an HBO Max account, accept the HBO Max Terms of Use and activate TNT Sports on HBO Max.

If you have a TV Box Pro, HBO Max will automatically be available in your apps rail from launch. The HBO Max app is also available for Android devices. Go to Google Play, search for HBO Max, and download it.
If you are an existing customer who bought before 26 March 2026, you will retain access to discovery+ entertainment content as part of your EE TV subscription at no extra cost.
If you have joined EE TV after 26 March 2026, you’ll need to sign up directly with discovery+. You will pay discovery+ directly, and the charge will not appear on your BT bill.

If you want to watch TNT Sports in the app after 26 March 2026, download the HBO Max app and use your discovery+ account details to sign in.
Yes — you can continue to watch entertainment content in the discovery+ app, if it is part of your current EE TV subscription.
