Cyber Threat Protect is our most powerful layer of digital defence, safeguarding your devices in real time – and we’re the only major broadband provider to offer this level of security as standard.
Powered by Norton, it’s available on up to 15 devices – across iOS, Android, PC, and Mac – and delivers comprehensive, intelligently designed protection for your connected life.
It includes real-time protection against ransomware, viruses, spyware, malware and other online threats, keeping your devices safe.
To get started, you need to activate Cyber Threat Protect:
- Sign in to My BT with your BT ID.
- Select Security.
- Select Activate Cyber Threat Protect.
You will then be directed to Norton to complete your setup, including installing your antivirus licenses and setting up features such as Safe Web, Dark Web Monitoring, Social Media Monitoring, and Norton Password Manager.
Once you’ve activated, you can easily set up and manage your features with the Cyber Threat Protect app:
Features of Cyber Threat Protect
- Multi-device anti-virus protection - protect up to 15 devices across PC, Mac, Android and iOS.
- Protect against scams with Scam Assistant – check suspicious messages, links or QR codes instantly.
- Keep your personal data secure with Dark Web Monitoring – protect up to 52 pieces of your personal data, and we’ll let you know if it shows up where it shouldn’t.
- Browse safely with Safe Web - stay safe from threats while browsing, banking and using social media.
- Social Media Monitoring - link your social media accounts, and we’ll tell you about suspicious activity or if you’ve been hacked.
- Store and create strong passwords with Norton Password Manager – then autofill them securely across your devices.
It’s likely you’ve logged into My BT with your BT ID username and password, which does not have an account holder status.
- Log in to My BT.
- Select Your Account (hover over My BT to view menu).
- Scroll down, and you’ll see if you’re an account holder or account manager.
If your BT ID is linked to more than one account number, you may have a different account status for each.
Every BT ID has an account role attached to it. You’ll either be an Account Holder or an Account Manager, and your role will determine the services and information you can access.
