Yes. You’ll need a Porting Authorisation Code (PAC) from your old mobile provider.
A PAC is a nine-character code that lets us transfer your number from your old provider to BT. Your PAC is valid for 30 days from when it's issued.
You can give us your PAC when you order your phone or SIM, or log in to bt.com/keepyournumber to enter it. If you don’t have one, you’ll need to create a BT ID.
Once we have your PAC, the transfer usually completes within 24 hours. We'll keep in touch with you to let you know what's happening.
If you ask us to transfer your number before 3 pm on a weekday, we'll move it over by the next working day. We don’t move numbers on weekends, bank holidays, or the day before a bank holiday.
What if I change my mind?
You can cancel if you contact us before 3 pm on the working day before your number is due to move. Because most transfers take 24 hours, you’ll need to cancel before 15:00 on the same day you request the move.
If it's after this time, you'll need to wait until it's moved and then arrange for it to be moved back. If you need to get in touch, call 150 from your mobile or 0800 800 150 from another phone.
Will everything keep working if I move my number?
Both SIMs will work until the move completes, but calls to your old number will go to your old SIM until the transfer is finished.
What happens on the day?
We'll text you when it's done. Once we've texted, pop the BT Mobile SIM into your phone (if you haven't already). Any calls to your number will be on the BT Mobile service.
The service with your old provider will finish later in the day.
If you have problems on the day, restart your phone.
