Digital Voice: Will my service work in a power cut?

Digital Voice

Your Smart hub must have power for you to be able to make calls using the Digital Voice service.

If there's a power cut, you'll need an alternative method to make calls, such as a mobile phone or an Emergency Hybrid Home Phone.

If you live in an area where you believe you have no mobile reception, or you don’t have access to a mobile phone please contact us.

Home Phone Standard

Your line will continue to work in the event of a power cut; however, if you are using cordless handsets, these won't work, and we recommend you have a corded phone as a backup or use a mobile.

What if I have medical equipment that uses my phone?

Digital Voice

If you have issues with your alarm or telecare service after moving to Digital Voice, please temporarily connect the alarm or health product base unit to the phone port on the back of your hub. Once you've done this, you should immediately contact your service provider to explain the situation by pressing the red button.

Home Phone Standard

If you're without service following the move to Home Phone Standard, place your phone in the main phone socket then immediately contact your service provider to explain the situation by pressing the red button.
