I'm being moved to Digital Voice

The UK’s ageing and unreliable copper landline network is being retired.
When BT contacts you, take action to avoid disruption to your home phone or broadband services

Further information and support are available on our Connected Together website, or by calling 0330 1234 150.

What will happen next?

Timescale of change:

  1. You’ll receive your invitation to move.
  2. We’ll check if you need any extra Digital Voice equipment.
  3. If you need a new hub which is compatible with Digital Voice, one will be sent in the post before your switchover date.
  4. On your switchover day simply plug your phone into your hub - you’re ready to go!

More help with Digital Voice

For help with setting up just call us on 0330 1234 150.

What happens to my Digital Voice service if my power cuts out?
If there's a power outage or your broadband fails, you’ll be unable to make calls using Digital Voice, including calls to 999. You’d also experience this if you have a cordless phone plugged into a power supply.

You’ll still be able to use a mobile phone, which should be charged at all times. If you don’t have a mobile phone or are in an area with no mobile signal, please contact us on 0330 1234 150.

You can find further help and support at Will my service work in a power cut?

No, there’s no charge. We also won’t change your contract length, or increase the cost of your service when your contract ends.

If you plug your phone into a telephone socket that's not near to your hub, that's ok. You can use a Digital Voice Adapter to connect your phone to your Digital Voice service.

You can order an adapter from us if you need one.

We have more help and support, see Digital Voice service.
