The famous John Williams Jurassic Park score – check!
A group of eager young adventurers heading to the Isla Nublar – check!
Terrifying, gigantic, out-of-control dinosasurs – check!
The story will be familiar to fans of the original 1993 Steven Spielberg film Jurassic Park and also younger fans of the Chris Pratt Jurassic World series. But this new take on the dinosaur adventure is aimed at a younger audience and uses CGI animation to bring the drama to life.
Here is everything we know so far about Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous…

The series premieres on Netflix on September 18, 2020.
It features eight, 22-minute episodes. That’s nearly three hours of dinos rampaging on the loose.

What is the story in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous?
Set against the timeline of the 2015 blockbuster film Jurassic World with Chris Pratt, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows a group of six teenagers trapped at a new adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar.
When the events of the film unfold and dinosaurs are unleashed across the island, each kid realizes their very survival rests on the shoulders of themselves and their fellow campers.
Unable to reach the outside world, our six teens will go from strangers to friends to family as they band together to survive the dinosaurs and uncover hidden secrets so deep they threaten the world itself.
It sounds pretty cool right?
Reassuringly, Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow are among the show’s executive producers overseeing the action and DreamWorks Animation are looking after the slick visuals.
How old do kids have to be to watch Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous?
The trailer features plenty of tense and jumpy moments as the teenagers go on the run from the hungry dinos, so if your kids are still enjoying Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig this isn’t going to be age appropriate for them.
However, if your kids are older, adventurous or in their teens, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous looks like it’s going to be a must-watch.
And we suspect plenty of parents will be finding the time to watch the white-knuckle adventures and T-Rex stomping action with their kids as well.
