Michelle Keegan is an English actress who landed her first on-screen role in British soap Coronation Street in only her second ever TV audition.

The Stockport-born star - who's married to TV presenter Mark Wright - has since left the cobbles behind, and appeared in TV shows including Brassic, Our Girl and Ordinary Lies.

We round up Michelle Keegan's top 5 TV roles and her best TV shows below.

1. Our Girl - Georgie Lane

One of Michelle’s most popular TV roles is playing army medic Georgie Lane in the BBC military drama series, Our Girl.

Created by Tony Grounds, the series follows Georgie and her comrades serving overseas in the British Army.

After taking over from Lacey Turner at the end of series 1, Michelle played the role up until series 4 - which she confirmed would be her last.

Our Girl seasons 1-4 are streaming now on BBC iPlayer.

2. Brassic - Erin Croft

Michelle puts her comedic acting skills to full effect in Sky One’s comedy drama series, Brassic.

Set in Hawley, Lancashire, Brassic follows Vinnie (Joseph ‘Joe’ Gilgun) and his gang of mates who get up to no good in the town.

Michelle plays Erin - a member of Vinnie’s gang who’s trying to leave Hawley for a better life for her and her son.

She returns to the role in the upcoming fourth season, and is confirmed to appear in season 5, too.

3. Coronation Street - Tina McIntyre

The TV role that made Michelle a household name was of course playing Tina McIntyre in the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street.

She was nominated for three National Television Awards for playing the role of Tina, who was central to many key storylines relating to issues including perjury, abortion and surrogacy.

Michelle first appeared on the soap in 2008, before her final appearance in 2014.

Catch up with Coronation Street on the ITV Hub.

4. Ordinary Lies - Tracy Shawcross

Michelle’s first role after she left Corrie was in BBC One’s TV drama Ordinary Lies, which was written by Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic).

Set in a car showroom, the drama explored the dark secrets that 'ordinary' people are hiding.

Michelle played the character of Tracy Shawcross, a receptionist who becomes involved with drug trafficking, in the show's first series.

Ordinary Lies is available to buy now on Amazon Prime Video.

5. Tina & Bobby - Tina Moore

You might recognise Michelle from her role in the ITV drama Tina & Bobby, based on the relationship of footballer Bobby Moore and his wife Tina.

Starring alongside Lorne MacFadyen as Bobby, Michelle played his wife Tina - an ordinary local girl who falls for the West Ham United footballer.

The drama series also explores the impact of England's 1966 World Cup win on the pair's relationship.

Tina & Bobby is streaming now on the ITV Hub.

Has Michelle Keegan starred in films?

Michelle's on-screen career has largely been on TV, although she has starred in a few films.

In 2008, she appeared in the Coronation Street spin-off film Out of Africa, visiting South Africa with the cast.

She also starred in the English comedy drama film Strangeways Here We Come in 2018, about a group of residents from a Salford council estate who decide to defeat a cruel loan shark that has been making their lives miserable.

In 2017, it was reported that she was in talks to star in the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movies - although this never materialised.

Michelle confirmed in 2020 that she would 'jump at the chance' to work on a Hollywood film - so watch this space.
