What is Code 404 season 2 about?

After cracking The Juggler case with his long-suffering partner DI Carver (Stephen Graham), DI Major (Daniel Mays) - killed in a failed sting operation but since resurrected as part of an experimental artificial intelligence project - has finally reached his potential as the top cop in the SIU, but it’s come at a price.

He discovered that after his death, Carver had shacked up with his wife Kelly (Anna Maxwell Martin). The pair went their separate ways and their partnership seemed over.

However, when a 20-year-old cold case is reopened the duo find themselves back together and thrown straight into the action.

The AI-driven Major seems to struggle with the pressure of an impending divorce and the return of his estranged father – while DI Carver (Stephen Graham) discovers that his problems are more serious than a standard reboot can solve.

Who’s in the cast?

Alongside Graham, Mays and Martin, Michelle Grenidge (Not Judy), Rosie Cavaliero (Dennett), Richard Gadd (Cleasby) and Amanda Payton (Parfit) all return.

Series 2 also features newcomers Meera Syal (Elizabeth Churchland) and Clive Russell (Clifford Major).
