Prime Video has released the first look trailer for comedian Katherine Ryan’s new unique comedy series.

Backstage with Katherine Ryan takes us behind the curtain on Ryan’s latest live comedy show at London's iconic Roundhouse and takes us into the dressing rooms of some of the UK’s leading stand-up comedians.

Ryan’s series is described as an "exposé of celebrity comedy life", which will reveal "all the sordid secrets" of stand-up shows.

The cameras will reveal the nerves, the gossip, the preparation, the excitement, the camaraderie and the clashes involved in the life of a stand-up comedian.

The trailer for the series suggests that no subject will be off limits as Ryan interrogates fellow comedian Joel Dommett about his sex tape and asks Seann Walsh about his infamous kiss with Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones.

The series will be offering a rare insight into the writing process as we see Katherine and head writer Geoff Norcott pitch gloves-off roast jokes to each other.

Each episode culminates with Katherine exuding her trademark acerbic wit by performing jokes about the very comedians she's invited onto the show.

The series has been described as "uncensored and unscripted", and promises to showcase the nation's favourite comedians "as you've never seen them before".
