The trilogy is on! Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor will meet in the octagon for the third time this Saturday night exclusively live on BT Sport Box Office.

McGregor won the first bout way back in September 2014, but 'The Diamond' got his revenge in January by becoming the first man to knockout the Irishman at UFC 257.

Now all eyes turn to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for the decider and BT Sport have asked some of the biggest names in the sport to give us their take on what to expect…

Colby Covington

"It's 'Conman McGregor' so it’s probably gonna be the same thing as last time.

"Conor’s cashed out since he made all that money against Floyd [Mayweather] and his whiskey business, so he has nothing left to do.

"He’s not motivated anymore, you can see that in his fights now, he’s clearly not the same hungry fighter that he was early on when he was training, eating and sleeping fighting, so I think it’s gonna be the same outcome.”

Poirier 1-0 McGregor

Robert Whittaker

“McGregor looked good until he didn’t, Poirier can outlast him the longer the fight goes on so if I was a betting man I’d lean towards Poirier.”

Poirier 2-0 McGregor

Michael Chandler

“I think Conor can make some adjustments that will pay dividends in the third fight, but I also believe Poirier is one of the most skilled and toughest guys in the division.

"They’ve both been finished by each other, they've both got great chins and great striking but I think Conor has the slight edge if he comes out with the 'No More Mr Nice Guy' attitude then he can get in Poirier’s head a little bit.

"I’m going to take my competitor hat off and put my fan hat on and sit there watching it all cageside."

Poirier 2-1 McGregor

Paul Craig

"I can’t see McGregor doing the hard work with all that money in the bank.

"I think Poirier will do it. He’s tougher, he’s younger, he’s hungrier... Poirier will stop him with leg kicks and put Conor on his backside."

Poirier 3-1 McGregor

Valentina Shevchenko

"Both men are great fighters but I always go to McGregor – I think of him as a victorious man!"

Poirier 3-2 McGregor

Marvin Vettori

"I think Poirier does it again.

"Maybe in the first encounter he didn’t have the belief, but now he’s been in a lot of situations with the lights on him and now he can deal with it better."

Poirier 4-2 McGregor

Darren Stewart

"I hate these questions... [pauses] I go Conor, but you can hear from my voice [I'm unsure]."

Poirier 4-3 McGregor

Tyson Fury

"It’s Conor McGregor's final roll of the dice... I think he wins this fight in style."

Poirier 4-4 McGregor

Leon Edwards

"I think if Conor can make the right adjustments he should get it done – I think he is a better, more skilful fighter so if I had to put money on it I’d go Conor."

Poirier 4-5 McGregor

Uriah Hall

"Usually Conor will come out and say: 'Screw all that, I’m done messing around let’s get it cracking.'

"But Dustin is always there, he’s always present, so it’s hard. I expect a bang… it’s too good I can’t make [a prediction], it’s too good."

Poirier 4-5 McGregor

Kelvin Gastelum

"Conor’s always been a smart guy so if he can figure out what he did wrong, he can get the job done."

Poirier 4-6 McGregor

Anthony Smith

"Initially after [the second fight] I thought it will happen in the same way. But hearing Conor talk about his movement and how he’s going to address those kicks gives me a little bit of pause.

"I do think Poirier wins the fight but it won’t be as one-sided because Conor will be reinvigorated after a loss.

"Though I haven’t seen anything new from Conor and for him to be successful he has to bring something new to the table."
