Bath v London Irish

Cancelled

London Irish’s match at Bath was cancelled due to a Covid-19 outbreak among the Exiles.

Premiership Rugby took the decision to call off the match following discussions with Public Health England after a number of Irish players tested positive.

Harlequins 19-27 Bristol Bears

Watch replay

Bristol Bears battled back to win their first Premiership game at Harlequins in 19 years thanks to Dan Thomas, Steve Luatua, Harry Randall and Niyi Adeolokun tries.

Quins weathered an early Bristol storm and scored three Marcus Smith penalties before Bears responded via Thomas and Luatua tries.

Randall then went over before the bonus point was secured via Adeolokun's try as they ran out winners at Quins for the first time since 2001.

Newcastle Falcons v Leicester Tigers

Cancelled

The Tigers returned a small number of positives tests in this week's round of PCR testing but a large number of the squad have been ruled out of the match due to contact tracing, meaning the match cannot go ahead.

A Premiership Rugby panel will now be convened to determine the allocation of points and a further announcement will be made in due course.

Exeter Chiefs 28-20 Gloucester

Watch replay

Exeter made it four bonus-point wins from four as the defending champions continued their dominant start to the Premiership season.

Having forfeited their Champions Cup tie with Toulouse, the Chiefs began slowly but two tries from in-form Sam Simmonds, along with Jonny Gray and centre Ollie Devoto’s scores earnt them victory.

Toby Venner picked up two tries of his own for the visitors – either side of Simmonds’ bonus-point score – but ultimately it was not enough.

Northampton Saints 29-10 Worcester Warriors

Watch replay

Wales fly-half Dan Biggar made an instant impact on his return, scoring 12 of Northampton’s 29 points as he guided them to a first Premiership win of the season.

He crossed for a try, alongside his two conversions and a penalty, to help earn the bonus-point victory and move Saints off the foot of the table.

In fact, the win was the perfect way to sign off a very tough 2020 at Franklin’s Gardens – with this Northampton’s first home Premiership win of the calendar year.

Sale Sharks 23-26 Wasps

Watch Replay

Wasps held off a late comeback attempt from Sale Sharks to secure a 26-23 victory at the AJ Bell Stadium.

The visitors scored tries through Tom Cruse and Charlie Atkinson – his first in the Gallagher Premiership – while Lima Sopoaga was strong from the tee.

Sale played their part but two tries – including a 50th in the Premiership – for Marland Yarde was not enough to secure victory.

But Wasps were left concerned by a serious-looking injury to star winger Zach Kibrige during the second half of the contest.
