Women's Champions League: Wolfsburg v Lyon

Wolfsburg go head-to-head with European giants Lyon in the final of the Women's Champions League

The 2020 Women's Champions League final will be contested by two genuine European heavyweights as Wolfsburg square off against perennial winners Lyon in a mouth-watering climax to the season.

The final pits two of the women's game's best teams against each other with little to separate them on paper.

Lyon are in an incredible ninth final in 11 years and aiming for a fifth successive European crown and seventh overall.

The French giants have a host of English talent on their books, including Lionesses Lucy Bronze and Jodie Taylor, although England winger Nikita Parris will miss the final after being sent off against PSG in the semis.

In their way stand Wolfsburg, who are making their fifth appearance in the final in the last eight seasons.

In fact, the Germans beat Lyon to win the first of their two European crowns in 2013, retaining the trophy 12 months later with victory over Swedish side Tyreso.

But Stephan Lerch's charges have have fallen at some stage to Lyon in each of the last four seasons, including in two epic finals.

Can Wolfsburg draw inspiration from their 2013 triumph and deny Lyon a seventh European crown? Or will Bronze, Taylor et al lead the French giants to glory once again?

Read on to find out how you can watch live coverage of the showpiece for free with BT Sport.
