Saturday 11 September
Crystal Palace 3-0 Tottenham
Patrick Vieira's new-look Crystal Palace cruised to a comfortable victory over table-topping Tottenham to pick up their first win of the Premier League season.
Wilfried Zaha scored the opener from the spot in the second half minutes after Japhet Tanganga was given his marching order for the visitors for two quick yellow cards.
But the introduction of summer signing Odsonne Eduoard helped the Eagles put the game out of sight as the former Celtic forward scored a quickfire brace on a dream debut at a packed out Selhurst Park.
Arsenal 1-0 Norwich
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a second-half tap-in to give Arsenal their first goal and first points of the Premier League season as they sent Norwich to the bottom table.
Both sides ran out at the Emirates Stadium having lost their opening three league games of the campaign and, following a game lacking quality, Aubameyang settled the contest as his close-range finish earned the Gunners a 1-0 victory.
Even then there was a nervy wait as a VAR check for offside ultimately went the way of the home side, who travel to Burnley next weekend with something to build on.
Brentford 0-1 Brighton
Brighton ended Brentford’s unbeaten start to the season as Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute in west London.
The Belgian curled into the corner on the stroke of full-time to punish Thomas Frank’s side for a lack of cutting edge and inflict a first defeat at home since Valentine’s Day.
The newly promoted Bees had created the better of the chances, but Bryan Mbeumo was guilty of failing to make the most of them and they were hit with a sucker-punch late on.
Leicester 0-1 Manchester City
Bernardo Silva maintained Manchester City’s winning streak with a determined 1-0 victory at Leicester.
The forward’s first goal of the season gave the visitors a third straight win and revenge for last month’s Community Shield defeat to the Foxes.
City deserved a victory which threatened to elude them after a wasteful first half in which Gabriel Jesus was twice denied by Kasper Schmeichel.
Manchester United 4-1 Newcastle
Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed a dream Old Trafford homecoming as the returning star’s brace helped Manchester United to a comprehensive victory against Newcastle.
A fortnight of anticipation reached fever pitch on Saturday afternoon as the 36-year-old stepped out at his old stomping ground in a red shirt for the first time in 12 years and 118 days.
It was a sight few ever expected to see again and Ronaldo, ever the showman, rose to the occasion.
Southampton 0-0 West Ham
Premier League player of the month Michail Antonio was shown a late red card as West Ham missed the chance to go top of the table after scraping a goalless draw at winless Southampton.
Antonio was dismissed for a second yellow card deep into added time following a late tackle on Moussa Djenepo having earlier been booked for a tangle with Jack Stephens.
Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off had opened the door for the Hammers to climb to the summit with victory at St Mary’s.
Watford 0-2 Wolves
Hwang Hee-chan scored on his debut as Wolves claimed their first goal, point and victory of the season with a 2-0 win at Watford.
In an unfortunate sequence of events, Hornets defender Francisco Sierralta headed the ball into his own net in the 74th minute to give Wolves the lead, and manager Bruno Lage his maiden Premier League goal in charge of the club.
Substitute Hwang then bundled the ball over the line to double his side’s lead and score his first goal on his debut.
Chelsea 3-0 Aston Villa
Romelu Lukaku dispatched two dead-eye finishes for his first Stamford Bridge goals as Chelsea saw off Aston Villa 3-0 to move second in the Premier League.
Mateo Kovacic teed up Lukaku’s opener then later punished Tyrone Mings’ loose back-pass for a goal of his own.
Lukaku then rifled in an unstoppable left-footed strike to make it three goals in as many Premier League appearances this term, extending Chelsea’s unbeaten start to four matches.
Sunday 12 September
Leeds v Liverpool , 4pm (KO 4.30pm) on NOW via BT TV
Sunday's sole Premier League game is a cracker, as Leeds welcome Liverpool to what will be a raucous Elland Road.
The visitors are unbeaten following wins over Norwich and Burnley but will have been disappointed to drop points last time out against Chelsea, when they failed to score a second goal despite The Blues playing the entire second half with 10 men.
Jurgen Klopp will hope his forwards can find the target against a Leeds team who always attack with abandon, whoever the opposition.
Marcelo Bielsa's men were thrashed by Manchester United in their opening game before draws against Everton and Burnley steadied the ship.
Bidding to build on last season's impressive ninth-placed finish, Bielsa will be keen to ensure second-season syndrome doesn't kick in at Elland Road though upcoming clashes against Newcatle, West Ham, Southampton, Wolves and Norwich could provide more fruitful.
Last season's two meetings provided nine goals, so lets hope we're in for some more open, attacking play from these two.
Monday 13 September
Everton v Burnley, 7pm (KO 8pm) on NOW via BT TV
The tenth and final game of the Premier League weekend comes on Monday night as Burnley head to Merseyside to take on Rafa Benitez's resurgent Everton.
The Clarets secured a surprise win on their most recent trip to Goodison Park, when early Chris Wood and Dwight McNeil strikes condemned Carlo Ancelotti's side to another disappointing home defeat.
Yet Benitez's Everton already look a more consistent, solid side. The Toffees have defeated Southampton and Brighton while drawing against Leeds and have the look of a well-drilled outfit heading into Monday's clash.
They'll be able to call upon the services of key forward Richarlison for the visit of Burnley after Brazil opted not to invoke the five-day rule for Everton which is set to rule eight other Brazilian Premier League players out of action this weekend.
It's a significant boost for Benitez as the Spaniard looks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin (three in three) and Demarai Gray (two in two) to continue their early hot streak in front of goal.
Opponents Burnley have registered just a solitary point so far, last time out at home to Leeds, though Sean Dyche won't be panicking - The Clarets had just two points after eight matches last season yet still stayed up comfortably.
Another win on Merseyside though, where Burnley also defeated Liverpool last season, will be a significant boost for the Premier League's longest-serving manager as he looks to pick up points ahead of matches against Arsenal and Leicester.
