Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United host Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United from 11.30am (12.30pm KO) on BT Sport on Saturday 10 August

Local rivals Manchester United and Leeds United go toe-to-toe on the opening weekend of the 2021/22 Premier League season and the whole footballing world is eagerly anticipating the resumption of this old, storied rivalry with the return of fans.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side finished a distant second behind Man City last season and were runners-up in the Europa League after a galling penalty shootout defeat to Villarreal.

They’ll be looking to banish memories of Gdansk and get off to a flying start this term with a win over a Leeds side who impressed on their long-awaited return to the top flight.

Marcelo Bielsa guided his side to a ninth-placed finish in their first season in the top tier since 2003/04 and won the hearts and minds of neutrals with their high-octane playing style.

The Red Devils won this fixture 6-2 last season, but the reverse game at Elland Road ended goalless and Leeds will be eyeing a first win at Old Trafford since their famous FA Cup triumph in 2010.

Will Manchester United lay down an early marker in their quest to end their long wait for a 14th Premier League title? Or will Bielsa's boys secure bragging rights in this most bitter of local derbies?
