Manchester City host Newcastle United on Wednesday evening as part of a bumper Premier League midweek double bill on BT Sport.
It's been a rollercoaster 10 days for Pep Guardiola's side since they officially relinquished their title to Liverpool.
City exacted a revenge of sorts when the Reds rolled into town, scoring four unanswered goals in a resounding home win in a reality check for Jurgen Klopp's men.
But Guardiola's charges failed to build on that eye-catching performance, losing 1-0 away at Southampton in the shock result of the weekend.
The defeat was their ninth in the league already this season - more than Arsenal rivals Manchester United and Wolves.
Now they must bounce back again against a resurgent Newcastle team in a repeat of their FA Cup quarter-final clash last month.
The Citizens won that fixture 2-0 but Steve Bruce's Magpies will have a steely confidence about them as they arrive on a five-game unbeaten run in the league.
