Team news

With three wins out of three in Group G of the Champions League and qualification through to the knockout stages pretty much secured, Pep may choose to rest some players for the trip to Copenhagen.

They comprehensively beat the Danish champions 5-0 on home soil, then eased to a 4-0 victory over Southampton at the weekend. They face Liverpool on Sunday, so this would seem like a good time to rotate the starting line-up.

Defenders Kyle Walker and John Stones are both out through injury, so expect to see Manuel Akanji fill in at right-back and either Nathan Ake or Aymeric Laporte come in at centre back.

17-year-old Rico Lewis has also made a few substitute appearances for the Citizens and could get some game time in Denmark, potentially coming on at right-back.

Jack Grealish could start after only making the bench at the weekend, as could Sergio Gomez at left-back.

Riyad Mahrez is expected to start, though Pep might be tempted to give City youngster Cole Palmer some more game time.

Pep might also be tempted to swap out Erling Haaland for Julian Alvarez. The Norwegian goalscoring monster is likely to start, but Pep might want to keep him fresh for Liverpool, and Alvarez is a more than capable replacement.

For Copenhagen, ex-Cardiff City striker Andreas Cornelius is out through injury, as is central midfielder Zeca, who will be out for the long-term with a cruciate ligament injury.
