Frequently asked questions
That all depends on what you play and if you want to download games and updates.
Whatever you play, you’ll need faster broadband than someone who just browses the internet and streams TV.
Online gaming generally needs the following speeds as an absolute minimum:
Download speed: 3Mbps
Upload speed: 1 Mbps
But these are only minimum requirements for a single player. The faster your broadband, the better and more responsive your gaming experience will be.
You’ll also need faster broadband if you want to connect other devices while you’re gaming.
Faster broadband also means you’ll be able to download games and updates in less time.
Downloading games and updates can use a lot of data. This depends on the size of the download.
All our Fibre broadband packages come with unlimited data.
If you’re getting access included as part of a Full Fibre package, once your broadband is activated, we’ll send you an email with details of how to claim your membership.
If you want to add Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to any other broadband package for £10 a month, you’ll need to log in to your My BT account. You can do this once your broadband is activated.
If you buy a qualifying Full Fibre package, you’ll get access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for either 6 or 12 months included in your deal.
At the end of that time, you’ll move onto a rolling monthly contract, paying £10 a month for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Or you can choose to cancel your membership.
