When BT contacts you, take action to avoid disruption to your home phone or broadband services

Some of our more phones have ECO mode. If ECO mode is on, the phone only uses the power it needs to communicate with the base. So that's instead of full transmission power all the time. If you are not getting a good range, check that the ECO mode is turned off before moving closer to the base

Some of our cordless phones have ECO mode. If ECO mode is on, the phone only uses the power it needs to communicate with the base. So that's instead of transmitting at full power all the time.

If you're not getting a good range:

  • Check that the ECO mode isn't on before moving closer to the base. You'll know if ECO mode is on because you'll see an ECO icon on the phone's display
  • To check the range, turn ECO mode off. For instructions on setting the ECO mode, go to the user guide for your phone
