BT TV Recordable Box G4
With the BT TV Recordable Box G4 you can:
- Record, pause and rewind live TV for up to two hours
- Record up to 300 hours of TV on the 500GB hard drive
- Record remotely with the BT TV app
- Watch Freeview channels, including HD
- Watch Sports, Kids, Movies, HD and Extra channels (subscription only)
- Access to On Demand players (BBC iPlayer, All 4, BT Player and more)
- Catch up TV with seven-day scroll back
- Search for a show
This box is an older version of the BT TV Recordable Box G4.
The two are identical in what they can do. All the menus and features are exactly the same, but the most recent version of the box is smaller than this earlier version.
BT TV 4K Recordable Box G5
This box does everything the BT TV Recordable Box G4 does, but has the added feature of Ultra HD.
If you have an Ultra HD/4K TV, this box will allow you to watch Ultra HD content available with the Total Entertainment or Max packages.
With the BT TV 4K Recordable Box G5 you can:

BT TV Box Z4
The BT TV Box Z4 is our smallest box. You can’t record live TV on this box, but it does most other things that a BT TV Recordable Box G4 can do.
With a BT TV Box Z4 you can:
- Pause and rewind live TV for up to 30 minutes for SD programmes and 14 minutes for HD programmes
- Watch Freeview channels, including HD
- Watch Sports, Kids, Movies, HD and Extra channels (subscription only)
- Access to On Demand players (BBC iPlayer, All 4, BT Player and more)
- Catch up TV with seven-day scroll back
- Search for a show
Differences to a BT TV Recordable Box G4:
- Pause and rewind live TV for up to 30 minutes for SD programmes and for 14 minutes for HD programmes instead of two hours
- There's no SCART input on the TV box, so you'll need an HD TV with an HDMI port
- There's no aerial out port, so this box is best for a simple setup to an HD TV
