BT Mobile PAC code

To keep your previous number when you join us,  you need to give us a ‘port authorisation code’ or PAC, which you get from your previous UK network provider.

A PAC code is typically a 9-digit code made up of three letters and six numbers.

Getting a PAC code

The easiest and quickest way to get a PAC code is by texting ‘PAC’ to 65075. Your service provider must reply within a minute giving you your code, which is valid for 30 days. You will also get information of any early termination charge.

If you don’t want to keep your number, make sure you text 'STAC' to 75075, to get a Service Termination Authorisation Code.

Once you’ve done this your provider knows you are leaving and you can avoid double payments.

Using your PAC code

Once you’ve got your PAC code head to bt.com/keepmynumber and log in using your BT ID and password. If you haven’t set one up, it’s very easy to do so.

Create a BT ID now >

Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your PAC code.

Once we’ve got your PAC code, we’ll get in touch with your old network provider and tell them you want to switch.

You’ve got 30 days to transfer your number from the day you get your PAC code, otherwise you’ll have to request a new one.

Number transfer times

It takes between 24-48 hours to transfer your number to us. Although if you put the request late on Friday, over the weekend or on a Bank Holiday, it may take up to three days.

Check the status of your order using your postcode and order reference (which you'll find on your order confirmation email) at bt.com/trackmynumber.

You can keep using your old SIM while we move your number.

We’ll send you an email and SMS confirming you’ve asked us to move your number, along with the date the transfer will take place. You’ll get another one when the transfer is complete.
