What you’ll be doing

In security, we deal with up to 4,000 cyber-attacks every day. With over 5,500 global customers, our work has a real impact all around the world. BT’s award-winning apprenticeship programme offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications, hands-on experience as well as personal and professional development.  You'll help to ensure that the world continues to connect safely as we look to protect our services, governments, FTSE 500 companies, and our millions of customers.

Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll be taught job specific skills such as planning, designing, building and testing simple networks. You’ll be taught the methods required to identify and evaluate network security risks and then incorporate appropriate security products and processes into network designs to increase security, resilience and dependability.

This Security role is in the Global part of our business. Bring your ideas, curiosity, and ambition; help us protect and be a global force for good.

About the apprenticeship you’ll study for

As a Network Engineer, you’ll study for a Level 6 apprenticeship called Digital & Technology Solutions Professional (Integrated Degree). This is an apprenticeship degree course, meaning if you complete the course successfully, you’ll receive a degree from one of our university partners.

  • The degree course runs for three years and is a work-based learning degree.
  • You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying. You’ll need to complete one “study work” day a week.
  • At the start of each module you’ll need to attend a module workshop, either in person or remotely, depending on the situation at that time.
