We really enjoy talking to customers.
Every conversation is different. Whether you’re working in sales or service, you’re helping people from all walks of life to stay connected. To the millions of people who contact us, you are the trusted voice of BT. That’s why we count on our advisors to give every one of their callers a positive experience.
We’re looking for people with potential.
It’s not about having tons of experience in sales, customer service, or a contact centre: it’s about bringing your own flavour to everything you do. If you’re great at building rapport and trust, showing empathy and resilience, and going out of your way for people, then you’ve probably already got what it takes to succeed here.
What does a customer advisor do?
You’ll be helping customers who’re having problems with their services. Each call can be very different. You might be helping people to understand their bills, getting them back online when their connection goes down, or talking them through our products and how to use them.
It’s not always easy. Sometimes customers can be frustrated that they’ve lost connection or their bill’s more than expected. It’ll be your job to calm the customer and fix the problem.
What does a sales advisor do?
This role is all about asking questions to understand what’s really important to the customer. They might want to add more services, save money or get a better value deal. Sometimes they may even want to leave us (spoiler: we don’t want them to do this).
You’ll need to get to know them in a few minutes and quickly work out what they need. With award-winning services and the latest devices you’ll be able to put together perfect packages just for them.
As a company that embraces diversity and inclusion, you’ll always find a warm welcome with us - whoever you are, wherever you’re from.
Life in a BT contact centre is many things – exciting, challenging, rewarding, occasionally frustrating, - but it’s never dull. You’ll work with a diverse mix of people in a buzzing atmosphere and be part of a welcoming, inclusive community.
If you want to work in a lively, fun environment and you’ve got the skills we’re after, you know what to do.
Build a career
Our contact centres are a great place to start building a career within BT in whatever direction you want, whether you’re aiming to scale the local management ladder or branch out into another part of the business.
We love it when people progress in our company. So if you want to go and explore the big wide world of BT, we’ll support you all the way. From access to online resources in our Academy to free courses with LinkedIn Learning, we’ll help you improve everyday skills or develop the new ones you need to land that dream job. You won’t be on your own. You’ll have coaching sessions with your manager, who’ll help you plot a course to where you want to be.
We’ve even launched a programme, called Evolve Digital, specifically for colleagues who want a career in digital but have no experience.
What’s in it for you? Benefits. Lots of them.
As well as the satisfaction of knowing you’re helping the country stay connected, you’ll also enjoy a suite of more tangible benefits, including:
