Impact of Covid-19 on AGM arrangements

Update - 7 July 2020

We published on 8 June 2020 BT Group plc’s Notice of meeting 2020, which stated that, in line with UK Government guidance on public gatherings and the associated social distancing measures and to protect the health and wellbeing of our shareholders, employees and wider communities in which we operate, BT’s 2020 AGM on 16 July 2020 would be a closed meeting and shareholders should not attempt to attend the AGM in person.

We have continued to monitor the impact of Covid-19 and any related legislation, including the recently published Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020 (the “Act”).  In accordance with this Act, BT’s 2020 AGM will now be held as a fully virtual meeting without anyone attending in person. The limited number of directors and personnel required to ensure that a quorum is present and to conduct the formal business of the AGM will be joining the meeting by phone.

Video messages from our Chairman and Chief Executive are available below.   A recording and transcript of the meeting will be available as soon as practicable after the AGM.
