The Better Workplace programme began in 2019 as an ambitious, game-changing project for BT Group. One of the biggest projects of its kind in the UK, it saw us consolidate our office spaces from 300 to closer to 30 locations, giving our colleagues multiple new or refurbished workspaces, from Plymouth to Dundee, including a brand-new HQ in London and new regional hubs.
More than two million square feet of amazing offices have been created for our people.
Our investment in these amazing new workspaces has seen BT Group to modernise its property estate, to enhance wellbeing and collaboration among our colleagues, created efficiencies in energy and maintenance costs, significantly reduced our carbon footprint, and helped us to better serve our customers.
These are more than just buildings to us – they underpin our transformation and are a symbol of the kind of company we’re becoming – modern, flexible, customer and colleague focused, with seamless tech and spaces that make you feel good.
Our new and refurbished offices, contact centres and specialist sites in key locations across the UK help to bring to life BT Group’s direction as a business.

The services and facilities in our buildings include a host team in our strategic hubs, flexible workstations, communal areas, multi-faith rooms, rooftop terraces, extensive office biophilia, tech bars, relax and refuel areas, and health and wellbeing facilities including cycle storage, showers and changing rooms.
